The American group Latham Group, a specialist in the design, manufacture and marketing of in-ground residential swimming pools, has announced the acquisition of Freedom Pools, a fiberglass pool manufacturer and installer operating in Australia and New Zealand. The transaction was completed on 26 February 2026.
A strategic acquisition in the Australian and New Zealand fiberglass pool markets
This operation enables Latham Group to strengthen its presence in two markets where fiberglass pools hold a significant position. It also provides the group with a strategic entry point into Western Australia, particularly in Perth, one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
Sean Gadd, President and CEO of Latham Group, commented: "The award-winning reputation of Freedom Pools reflects a deep commitment to product quality, innovation, and service excellence - values that strongly align with those of Latham. This transaction expands our presence in Australia and New Zealand - markets where fiberglass pools have a strong foothold and provides a strategic entry into new markets in Western Australia."

Founded in the 1970s, Freedom Pools is one of the longest-standing and most highly awarded fiberglass pool manufacturers in Australia. The company designs, manufactures and exports a wide range of fiberglass pool models and spa products.
The company currently operates manufacturing facilities in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, as well as several display centres across Australia. In New Zealand, Freedom Pools works with local partners to distribute its product ranges.
Grant Craig, General Manager of Freedom Pools, said: "Since our founding in the 1970s, Freedom Pools has been a pioneer in fiberglass pool manufacturing, and we are proud to have grown into one of the leading players in the Australia and New Zealand markets. By leveraging Latham Group's scale and experience and given our shared commitment to delivering high-quality fiberglass pools, this partnership positions Freedom to enter its next phase of growth."
This acquisition complements Latham's existing presence in the region through Narellan Pools, an Australian fiberglass pool brand acquired by the group in 2019. Narellan and Freedom will continue to operate under a dual-brand strategy.
Latham is also strengthening its ability to develop a direct-to-consumer strategy, notably through Freedom's display centres, where customers can discover fiberglass pool models and receive expert advice.
