From its beginnings in a workshop in Bilbao to its international expansion, GRE has built recognised expertise in above-ground pools and solutions designed to simplify their installation, equipment and maintenance.
75 years of development towards more accessible pool ownership
In 2026, GRE celebrates its 75th anniversary. This important milestone highlights the journey of a company that has evolved alongside its market, anticipated changing needs and helped make private pool ownership accessible to more households.
Over the decades, GRE has gradually developed a range that responds to the diversity of outdoor spaces, lifestyles and aesthetic preferences. Above-ground pools made from steel, wood or composite, together with equipment, accessories and water treatment solutions, now form a catalogue designed to simplify the pool experience, from installation through to everyday use.
From a Bilbao workshop to a leading brand in the European market
GRE's story began in 1951 in a small workshop in Bilbao, Spain, dedicated to manufacturing PVC rainwear and waterproof clothing. A few years later, the company shifted its activity towards aquatic leisure, developing inflatable beach products including floats and boats.
A decisive turning point came in 1982, when GRE specialised in the manufacture of above-ground pools. The company thus helped develop a new way of enjoying a private pool: easier to install, adaptable to a wide variety of sites and accessible to a broader audience.

This specialisation enabled GRE to steadily consolidate its industrial expertise and understanding of consumer expectations. By joining the Fluidra Group in 2003, GRE strengthened its presence in international markets and became part of a global group specialising in equipment and solutions for the pool and wellness sector.
Beyond the evolution of its products, these 75 years demonstrate GRE's ability to transform the very concept of the above-ground pool. Long regarded as a primarily functional and seasonal solution, it has become a genuine outdoor living feature, available in a wide variety of formats, sizes, finishes and equipment levels.

A comprehensive range designed to simplify and enhance the pool experience
GRE now develops pools suited to a wide variety of settings and projects. Steel makes it possible to offer numerous shapes and finishes, while wood meets the demand for natural integration into the garden. Composite, meanwhile, combines contemporary aesthetics with durable, easy-to-maintain materials.
This diversity enables the brand to meet both the constraints of smaller spaces and the requirements of larger family pool projects. Pools may be round, oval, square or rectangular and installed above ground or, for certain models, semi-in-ground or in-ground, in accordance with the applicable technical recommendations.
GRE's activities, however, are no longer limited to the pool itself. The brand offers an ecosystem of products covering the main requirements throughout the life of a pool: filtration, cleaning, water treatment, heating, covers, liners, ladders, lighting, safety equipment and maintenance accessories. It also provides customer support, after-sales service and tools designed to guide users in selecting and installing their equipment.

For its distributors and partners, the breadth of the range makes it possible to meet the needs of different consumer profiles within a consistent brand portfolio. It also facilitates the creation of a complete solution, combining the pool with the equipment required for its operation, protection and maintenance.
Quality, safety and environmental responsibility also play an important role in the development of the range. GRE's pool design, manufacturing and marketing processes are supported by management systems certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Depending on the product range and materials concerned, other certifications and initiatives also address product safety, materials management and wood traceability.
To mark its 75th anniversary, GRE is therefore celebrating far more than its industrial longevity. The brand is reaffirming its commitment to continuing the development of the above-ground pool by combining innovation, ease of use, aesthetic diversity and responsible resource management.
Its ambition remains true to the spirit that has guided its development since 1951: to enable more people to enjoy the benefits of a pool and to transform outdoor spaces into places for relaxation, well-being and shared enjoyment.
